Summer Reading 2011

May 31st - July 30th
Educational & entertaining programs for all ages!
Prizes for participating in our reading programs with the completion of reading logs!
To get started, children, teens and adults pick up reading logs at the Youth or Adult Information Desks beginning May 31st. Teens & adults may submit book reviews online if they prefer.
Summer programs are sponsored by the Texas State Library and Friends of the Library. The library will offer another summer of reading fun with exciting & educational programs and reading incentives for all ages! In addition to the reading portion of our program, we will also bring in fabulous performers on Tuesdays, hear local celebrities read for Celebrity Storytime on Wednesdays, and make creative crafts with youth and teens on Thursdays. All programs will take place at the library with the exception of the first Tuesday performance with Percussionist Mark Shelton on June 7th, which will be presented at the Wichita Theatre.
To begin the reading program, children will pick up a reading log at the Youth Information Desk. When they have read ten hours and return the log, they will earn a prize, and can continue reading for more prizes. Teens & adults can pick up a reading log at the Information Desks, or they may submit book reviews online. Reading logs can be picked up any time beginning May 31st.
